Evita is flattered and grins at Keket. "Thank you m'lady. It is a pleasure to have someone as lofty as yourself grace our establishment. You are the kind of clients we cater towards." Evita pulls out her scissors and associated kit and begins looking over Kekets startlingly white hair. "I must say my lady you hair is quite unique. What is it that you would like done with your hair today? A cut? A shampoo? Perhaps some colour? Thanks to our supplier we have managed to acquire some excellent products from the Lunar Kingdom of the Goblins. Its magic allows us to turn your hair different colours!"

Overhearing the conversation Lady Val smirks. Looks like Grandfather managed to get another shipment of magical dye down to the Annwm. Keket looks like her birthday came early, she loves Goblin dyes. Val fondly remembers Keket as a young Elf running around Tor'Jadin with her hair turned a bright shade of orange to go with her bright blue dress and iridescent green wings with a younger Innogen, dressed in her first suit of armour, leading the way to the park so that they could play Damsels and Dragons. She certainly started a trend back then. Every young child in Tor'Jadin wanted their hair or fur coloured after that. She pauses to think for a second. I wonder why Keket doesn't wear her wings anymore? She used to love those and, to be honest, they really did suit her. I hope I haven't been too hard on her...

Lady Val giggles as Keket becomes excited.

Evita grins excitedly in response. "Excellent! Cut and dye it is! But first, let's give your hair a wash so that it will take up the dye better." Evita leads Keket over to a washbasin with a chair in front of it and helps her wet her hair. She uses a floral shampoo.

*Joy begins to walk around town, going into each inn or tavern that she encounters. If someone were to be trailing her now, she would appear to be looking for someone...*

*She walks into a tavern called the Rotten Apple. The atmosphere is grungy, the furniture has seen better days and the air smells of piss, sweat and ale. You'd swear you'd never find a Halfling here, given its condition, but this is the last tavern that she has not checked*

*There, at the bar, sits a tall, blonde, female Halfling wearing simple but bright clothing. She is talking to a man, who looks as grungy as the tavern. He's wearing an apron, cleaning a dirty mug with a slightly less dirty rag. Joy slowly approaches the pair*

"Ok, so vat do you zink about zis: ve clean zis place up, fix ze broken tables und chairs, und you give us five rares?"

"Five rares!? You might as well ask for my balls. That's way too much. Three rares."

"No. Four rares und two rocks. You know how goot Halfling craftsmanship iz. You came to US."

"Four rares. And I want your troupe to play some music Saturday night."

*The Halfling thinks about this.*

"OK. But ve get free food und drinks."

"Free drinks only."

"Ach, come on, your food isn't even zat goo-"

*The Halfling woman suddenly notices Joy*

"... Joy?"

Bikbun notices the accent from Ursa, unusual for an Orc, and comments about it.

"Thank ye, lass. Say, uh, ye have a pretty distinctive accent on ya; sounds like one from back home o' the Scarred Lands! Ye wouldn't hail from there, would ye?" he enquires.

Bikbun is entirely oblivious of Lady Val's jealous face, but also oblivious to the flirtatious advances of the young, pretty Orc.

Val remains unimpressed.

Bikbun, pleased to see another Fae escape the horrors of the Scarred Lands (and the subsequent Unity) replies in delight.
"Aye, lass, that I did! Came over after all the purgin' o' the Fae by the Humans a' the time. I'm glad tae hear more Fae escaped from there! I hope yer family made it out... Too... "

His voice trails off, and if one were to pay close attention, they would see Bikbun's face turn solemn and his shoulders sink, just for a moment. But he quickly notices this and tries to regain the mask of happiness.

" Ah, sorry, I'm babblin' here, I'll let ye get tae work!" he says apologetically, with a smile that - once again, were you looking carefully enough - seemed very forced.

He remains relatively quiet for the rest of the hair appt, responding with simple "yes"s and "no"s.

Just as Lady Val is about to say something Rodya finishes with Malva and comes over to style and cut her hair.

The next hour is filled with meaningless talk. Keket becomes extremely excited when parts of her hair come out a brilliant purple and almost tips over the bottles of dye. Val chats with Rodya as he cuts and styles her hair, but Bikbun remains quiet. On the other side of the room Malva is curled up with several delicious teas. The staff have managed to find her an old book on the flowers of Annwm from the back room.

When everyone's hair is finished the group pays for the service, with a generous tip for their hosts, and returns to the caravan to meet everyone else. The elves make a point of taking their discarded hair with them. Malva discusses some rare flora that was talked about in the book with the others.

As they are walking back to the caravan, Lady Val notices Bikbun is very quiet. "Bikbun, are you alright?"

[OOG] The book is one of Evita's. Her mother gave it to her as a gift. I don't know if cast will let you learn anything from it, but it is worth asking.

Bikbun takes a moment to notice that Lady Val has spoken to him - not through ignoring her, but through being very spaced out - and suddenly realised and stumbles over an explanation.

"Oh! Uh, sorry fer not answerin' straight away, I..." he sighs a heavy sigh and slinks his shoulders.

"The lass cuttin' me hair reminded me o' mah family back home. I... I don't even know if they are still..." he seems to cut himself off from that train of thought rather quickly.

"Ah, it's nothin', probably. Though she were bein' a bit too friendly wi' me, an' it did start tae make me feel a bit off-put. Though it were the memories that made me go quiet."

He gently puts a hand on Lady Val's shoulder, and smiles a vulnerable bit appreciative smile at her.
"Thanks fer asking, Val. It means a lot tae me."
