[Flora the Faun]

Flora strides into the Tavern looking for the cute little Elf princess from the moon. She gazes around the inn and seeing an empty spot sits down and begins to get out her medical equipment.

oddly enough as flora stirde into the tavern her hood up as shes looks around then looks at Flora a small smile came a cross her face seeing her with her pure white eyes with black pupiles looking at her-

"hello Flora"

[Flora the Faun]

"Ah! There you are Keket!" She walks over and offers the young elf a hug.

"I came back just as you asked.... Hey girl are you ok? You look upset? Did something happen?"

[Keket]

-shed would watch her come over and give her a hug back as it was offered the last while has be hard as shes trying to get her mind -

"thank you for coming back Flora"

-shed spoke slightly in the hug-

"im rather shocked from the events that just happen i felt i couldn't save her im upset about that Flora but it had to be done it was the only way .the fairy ring is up because of her but i lost a good friend i dont know what to do now"

-shed whispered-

"maybe if i only knew more.."

-shed looked her right in the eyes now after a few moments after letting her go from the hug-

"Woah there princess, slow down!" Flora sits next to her and wraps an arm around the cute Elf "Who's been hurt and who couldn't you save? And what's this about a Faerie circle?"

-shed would lean into Flora as shes warps and arm around her as shed took a deep breath as she spoke holding tears back-

"Lady lessa was the sacrifices to the fairer circle i was not able to her body went away after awhile there was no pulse! i was unable to move to do anything other then cry happy because it was back words day and it was hard! she give her life to keep crate the circle! i couldn't save her flora .i failed my medic training"

-her face turned into her shoulder/chest-

"Hey there now, calm down princess, calm down. Faerie rituals are complex things and you can bet your friend knew what she was doing. And," She looks Keket in the eye, "you Elves are completely different from us Fauns. Faerie loves you more than anyone. If she wants to come back you can bet Faerie will let her do so, especially after such a sacrifice. Besides, if that ritual is like any other kind of life and death magic I've seen there wasn't much you could do in terms of healing her. Medicine can do a lot, but it can't bring people back from the dead if they don't want to come back."

[Keket]

-as shed said this shed be looking her right back into her eyes as shes looks confused at first then understands her tears solwy going away as shes sighed-

" you think so Flora? you think so?! faire may let her come back? there's so much more to learn about magic then it seems ill have to learn it and if you mean medicine can do alot more then what i can do right now then ill shell learn that first and hope next time they will want to come back and i dont freeze up like that again.. can you teach me the last bit that i need to know?"

-shed still be hugging into her some of her hair would have fallen into her face covering one of her white eyes-

*The inn door opens and in walks Joy, eyes reddened and downcast*

*She takes a deep breath and notices the faun and the elf sitting at a table*

"Hallo Lady Keket, Flora. Tell me, how do you deal vith somevone dying in front of you? Gibben my couple of scrapes vith death after coming here, I zink zere vill be more of eet. Maybe togezer ve can prevent tsome of it, yah?

*Joy smiles just a tiny bit*

[Flora the Faun]

"See, that adorable halfling lady over there wants to learn too. Maybe I can teach you both yeah?" She hugs Keket closer and gives her a handkerchief from her satchel. "As for Faerie, well, she works in mysterious ways so best not worry about it. Everything usually works out alright in the end."

Flora stands up and taps the seat where she was sitting. "Come have a seat little lady and I'll teach you a thing or two about savin' people. You may not be a full fledged doctor like princess Keket over here but you'll be one hell of a cute nurse by the time I'm done. Although, you already got the attractive bit down pat if you ask me. Its not every day you see a halfling as stunning as yourself working in the medical profession." she winks wickedly and saunters over to the other side of the table so she can face her students.

*Joy blushes a whole lot*

"Vell, eh, uuhhh... OK!"

*Joy walks over and sits down where Flora indicated*

"So, umm, vere did you learn ze arts of ze physicker?"

keket would nod as this was said as shes sits up ready to learn more now after abit of blowing into the handkerchife after a quite thank you after the hug before blowing her noise

"okay Flora im ready to learn and thank you.. ill do my best! and really im that good now flora!? and that would be cute to see you become a nurse Joy!"

"Yah.. I vould be a nurse, vouldn't I?"

"To answer your question sweet thing I've learned my craft from many people and books, but the bulk of my training was done in the Empire. Now, to train you to cutie become a nurse and you princess to become a full physician we will need someone to heal. Do either of you know of anyone who is injured or needs healing? Preferably something complicated like surgery or reconstruction but we can make due with something minor."

"Let me see if I can find someone. ."

* Joy stands up, goes to the door, opens it and yells*

"IZ ANYONE INJURED OUT ZERE?"

Herr walks in and hears they need someone to practice on.
"Oh, Joy, if you'd be so kind as to volunteer, i can give them some practice fixing a stab wound." He says as politely as possible but smiles at the thought

"... vat iz your deal, you creepy blue... uh..."

*She pauses*

"...forgive me, vat do you go by?"

"That's Herr. He's blue now and has a tail. If you want to be stabbed that's your choice but to be honest Holdfast is one of those places where people get injured... frequently. So I'm sure something will turn up."

She places her bag on the table.

"While we are waiting let's go over some of the essentials for a good medical kit.

1) Clean curved needles and cat-gut
2) Leeches
3) An anesthetic such as opium, chloroform -- my favourite, or alcohol gas
4) Mould, different kinds of moulds can prevent infections from spreading, they are helpful before and after surgery
5) Scalpels
6) Bone saw
7) Retractor

12) Surgical scissors
13) Bandages
14) Stethoscope

16) Measuring tape

She lays out a myriad of tools in front of Keket, Joy, and Herr. They are immaculately clean and many of them look like they could be used as stabbing or basing weapons.

[Borin Ironhammer]

Oog: context from pm thread: sparrow jumps on borins back. His splint breaks and his bad leg collapses.

Borin stumbles into the inn using his axe as a makeshift cane. He is wearing a splint on his left leg that has snapped in two pieces near the knee and a piece of bone is protruding from his left knee. He grumbles as he drops onto the bench looking at flora.

"Just the lass I wanted te see."

*Joy looks grossed out*

"Ewww. Flora, ve have our injury to vork on. Matka's beard dwarf, vat happened to you?"

-keket would be looking over each things carefully and seeing it could also be used as a weapons if need be hoping that needed to happen shed looked at Borin ans gasped abit-

"what you do now to do that?! youre bone is sticking out from you knee!! that shoulnt be like that! "

-shed looked at flora then back to Borin as shed spoke looking over him-

"does this mean we get to do the surgery again!? flora on Borin now?! but you were right someone always ends up hurt at sometime or another!"

"I'm rarely wrong princess. Now Mr... Ironhammer was it? Yeah I think I've seen you in Applevale a few times. Right, Joy clear a spot for the poor dwarf to sit down; Herr, you go and fetch me some metal splints from Bikbun, and princess Keket, grab some bandages, some high strength catgut, a scalpel, and the retractors. We'll stitch up that knee in no time Mr. Ironhammer!"

Flora washes her hands in the basin and gives Joy a charcoal laced sheet to lay down on the makeshift operating table. From her bag, Flora digs out a jar of honey, a bottle of alcohol, and some spices that some of you may recognize -- cinnamon, cloves, and ginger. She hands the bottle to Borin. Those who know anything about alcohol know it should normally be stored in glass bottles. This one is glass reinforced with titanium and has crude writing on it reading 'night night'. Anyone with any experience with orcs will know that this is some of their most potent liquor.

"You're going to need this."

[Borin Ironhammer]

"Appreciated." Borin grumbles through the pain

"Rocky gave me no such luxury when he fixed me up after the skirmish with the orcs."

He grabs the bottle and knocks the whole thing back. You can see a wave relief wash over him but he doesn't even seem tipsy.
"Judgin' by what it say on the bottle I might might need some more."

[OOG: You know, if we ever get another camping site for game, we need a dedicated hospital space for this sort of thing.]

*Joy clears a spot for the dwarf and lays down the charcoal-laced sheet on the table*

"Uh, Flora, vat did you hand Herr Ironhammer? I don't know of any medicine zat comes in a titanium bottle... and vat are you going to do vith ze food ingredients? Iz almost making me hungry."

keket would grab the grab some bandages, some high strength catgut, a scalpel, and the retractors thought the retractors she got abit confused on first but then found them as shes brings them over -

"here we go seems that bottle didnt work for him he drinks have nto to seem to work what every it was"
