If You Build it, They Will Come

Water was up to her ankles, exposing the young maiden's bare feet. A cold morning wind carved waves in the dark, long hair and linen tunic.

Her hands were scraped and bled a little as she lugged a log into the ocean. She began tying two together with some heavy rope.

Pulling a small hammer and chisel from her belt pouch, Decima chopped at the lumber.

[Timmean]

The sound of splitting wood reached Timmean's ears before anything else. Approaching cautiously, he soon reached the banks, relaxing as it became clear there was no immediate threat. Watching the work, he tilted his head, wondering what Decima was trying to accomplish.

"Good morning, m'lady. Beginning some special project?"

"T'is a good morn', Timmean," she replied softly as she continued working.

"Just building mine raft to see if one can sail to the opposed shore. I am hoping to trade these..."

She lifts a handful of metal from her pouch.

"... for tomato seeds, among other things-- whatever thy may purchase, really."

She wipes the sweat off her brow.

[Volkihere Malacalo]

Volkihere Comes out of the woods away from the Earth Circle. "Oh Timmean, when you have a moment, I would like a word." He stands still with a mask clad face.

[Timmean]

Timmean nods, acknowledging both Volk and Decima.

"Certainly Volk, I'll be there in a moment. And Decima, you hardly need to work alone. There are plenty of people here - myself included - that can help you with the construction." He smiles a little, "Especially if you're planning to purchase more seeds."

"Now, to be honest, I've actually been looking for the two of you. It's been a few days since the appearance of those... um, dancing skeleton creatures. Things were so confused that night, I don't think we made much progress in actually deciding on a strategy to deal with the threat, should those creatures re-appear. I've had the time to go back over things in my head, and sort out events as well as I can remember them; I'm hoping everyone else has as well. I was thinking about calling a meeting, to discuss exactly what happened..." He paused, glancing from Decima to Volk, "But I thought it might carry more weight if one of you were to do so. I'm merely a farmer, after all. An announcement for a strategy meeting should come from someone with authority."

Decima looks up from her work.

"I'm going to give it my best effort to sail through these waters. Perhaps, we may ask Phineas where he purchases his seeds? Timmean, could you write up something to announce a town meeting at The Watering Hole? I shall sign it and have it posted on the Notice board.

We shall schedule the meeting for tomorrow night. Does the 10th bell sound well?"

[Volkihere Malacalo]

"Actually it does fall under both of our jurisdiction, and the Comander's, but my experience in the area of undead, is severely lacking. I do not know how to fight something I cannot kill, however I will assist anyone I can."

[Timmean]

Timmean nods thoughtfully. "That sounds perfect; I'll draft a notice today and leave it on your bunk. You may review and post it at your leisure. After that, if you'd like any assistance, I should have some time."

He turns to Volk; "Now, you had something you wished to speak about?"

"I wish to strgenthin my connection to the earth (Teir 3 earth) and I have seen you bind people to the ground with magic (the Earth Will Bind Your _____, ‘x' Minutes) I would like to learn how to do that, when you have a moment"

[Timmean]

Timmean Nods slowly; "Certainly, I'll help you as much as I can. Just remember, forging a strong connection with the earth takes time; the stronger the spell, the more difficult it is to master. You're learning well, just don't try to learn everything at once. Still, choose a location, give me a moment to draft the meeting notice, and I'll be with you."
