The Earth Circle.

The area around the earth circle is still, animals have left hibernation, and began there wandering through the forest. The land is wet for the coming summer and cold from the passed winter, food is scarce and the animals from the forest have begun coming closer to the paths in search of food. The earth circle is left as still as ever though, however a single sword stands alone out of the ground, it shines brighter than any steel blade you've seen before. You see no one there, aside from the odd rabbit or bird.

[Lady Val]

(May 23rd)

Lady Val wanders up to the Earth circle and sits on a large rock staring intently at the wavering circle. Her ears twitch and she looks around sensing something nearby.

"Sheriff Malacalo, if you are nearby, I would very much like to speak with you."

From the woods near the Earth circle, the mage known as simply "The Wiz" comes staggering out, tripping over roots and fallen branches.  He loses his footing and lands in a heap right at the edge of the Earth Circle.

"Whoa!" he says as he gets to hands and knees. "This is where I am!"

Content with being at the Earth Circle, he cuddles up for a nap in the middle of the circle regardless of who may be around.

[Lady Val]

Lady Val stares confusedly at the old human in front of her, blinking several times in quick succession.

"Is this supposed to be some kind of a joke? Malacalo I demand to speak with you immediately! Throwing aged humans into the middle of the Earth circle is unbecoming of a champion!" she says offended.

[Volkihere Malacalo]

Volk appears on the opposite side of the circle from Val.
"He is an earth Mage, he also just began to lay down here."

[ValerieTheHuntress]

Valerie The Huntress, after having just post up some posters decides to go for a leisurey walk.

Confused, Valerie cries out "why is everyone in the middle of the woods? I don't get it"

[Lady Val]

"Ah I see," says Val clearly unimpressed and slightly disgusted by the dishevelled appearance of the human wizard currently napping in the Earth Circle. "Well this quickly became a less than private meeting. Shall we continue this discussion on the Earthly plane Sheriff?"

Noticing the Huntress's exclamation she nods in acknowledgement. "Good day Valerie, myself and the Sheriff have business to attend to. Could you be so kind as to make sure this, ahem, gentleman is kept safe during his slumber?"

Volk has disappeared.

[Lady Val]

Lady Val watches as the Sheriff disappears and follows suit, her essence easily blending with the Earth.

[Zar/Herr]

Hearing nearby fumbling and banter, Herr slowly walks behind the nearby trees and bushes so as not to be seen and to observe, with his binoculars, what is going on, waiting to write anything interesting in his book. He has a keen interest on the strange wizard and the fact he thought he heard Volk and Lady Val

[Volkihere Malacalo]

Volk reappear's as if from nowhere. Behind Herr
"Herr, why do you keep spying on me, you are not very good at it."
He then walks back to the wiz, he looks to be waiting for him to awaken. From a respectable distance.

[Zar/Herr]

At first startled, Herr waits for Volk to walk away. "I'm willing to bet you didn't notice me the last few times" Herr mumbles to himself and leaves

[Volkihere Malacalo]

"I did!" He shouts back.
"When you are trying to spy on someone. Don't use the main paths. Go through the brush."

[Lady Val]

"Indeed," says Val with a wolfish grin as she appears purposefully right next to Herr's shoulder, matching his step as he stalks away from the circle. "For a 'spy' you are very poor at your job."

[ValerieTheHuntress]

Valerie overhears the conversation and jumps in, "Lady Val, I can now sense the elements of magic of which you speak. Would you be so kind as to teach me what you know of the elements of Fire, Water, and Air? Especially Earth though?"

[Lady Val]

"Ah darling this is fantastic news!" Val exclaims happily as she spins round to face the huntress, her eyes shining in the dying sunlight. "Well, magic is dreadfully simple for those attuned to it. Come, sit with me over here by the lake." she says inviting Valerie to follow her towards the embankment next to the water circle. Just below the bank is some fishing equipment left by Degren.

"Now darling sit here in front of me legs crossed, just like that." she motions, sitting down herself in an elegant fashion, still grinning from ear to pointed ear.

[Lady Val]

"Oh and I meant to say, don't forget to close your eyes. That part is very important you know." she says, still grinning happily.

[ValerieTheHuntress]

Valerie follows the directions as given by Lady Val.

[Lady Val]

"Excellent!" she says pleased. "Now breathe in, and feel the Earth below you. Feel its power and visualize it in your minds eye. Then, breathe out."

As Valerie is doing this Lady Val is watching, her eyes shining with glee as she maintains her composure.

Volk looks on smiling.

okay, so now what? The Huntress asks Lady Val?

[Lady Val]

"Do you not feel any different? Hmmm perhaps you need to meditate longer. Close your eyes and breathe deeply. Concentrate on the Earth, the trees, the rocks, and the soil. Find the essence that flows through them." she says calmly, a smile tugging at the corner of her lips.

"Now do you feel anything different?"

I am starting to feel a difference...

[Lady Val]

"Excellent!" Lady Val exclaims with excitement.

"Clearly you now have a grasp of the essence of Earth. Yes, next we will focus on learning a spell I think." Lady Val then proceeds to stroke her chin thoughtfully a smile crossing her face. "Ah! I have it! Yes 'The Earth Will Throw You' will do nicely. Now taking that essence you feel stand up with me like so, and plant your feet shoulder width apart like this." Lady Val then proceeds to rise gracefully and plant her feet, shoulder width apart with her centre of gravity evenly distributed.
