The Earth Circle

[Volkihere Malacalo]

The trees shimmer and crackle in the wind, the birds chirp to fill the air, wispers of the air flow between the grass. An aura of peice surrounds this place, it smells of pine and dirt. Volkihere is sitting beside a tree, as silent as the grave. He looks towards the altar with offerings placed upon it. He is still, and his hands are dug into the earth in the shape of roots. To a mage he looks to be meditating on lord earth. To anyone else he's a crazy person who is frozen in place and decided to stick his hands in the dirt.

[Lessa]

There is a rustling in the bushes and an elf emerges. Her green velvet tunic looks black in the shade. She looks about the space speculatively, assessing, then catches sight of the human being sitting so quietly there and, an instant later, spots the offerings. (Will: please describe the spot for me - I know roughly where it is, but are there special markers/features?) She sits, considers, then, speaking slowly, asks, "What are you doing?"

[Volkihere Malacalo]

(OOG: Does Volk recognize you, I can not remember your characters name and who plays them?)
(the altar looks like a rock, offerings of flowers, shiny stones, and two swords lean against the altar)
Volkihere: "meditating, would you like to sit" He says with a smile.

[Lessa]

Lessa (Helene's character, arrived Sunday morning) sits more comfortably. "Yes, sitting is good," she says thoughtfully. Still moving slowly, she pulls three hairs from her head in the back and lays them on the altar, using the shiny stones to hold them down. She nods, then looks back to Volk. "There is no circle here yet, but surely soon. Are you meditating to show the Lord he is welcome here?"

[Volkihere Malacalo]

"Yes, I wish for him to know he is welcome here, and that I will watch, clean, and protect this place when or if he arrives to bless the land."
Volk then goes silent again.

[Lessa]

"A good practice. Circles are ... good." She gets lost in thought again and absent-mindedly plucks a blade of grass to nibble. She swallows, and two seconds later she clutches her stomach. "Oh! My .... stomach!" She winces, then turns to Volk. "That square place with corners -- the inn -- does it have food?" she asks.

[Volkihere Malacalo]

Volkihere stands up looks to Lessa. "Yes and I must speek with Timmian, so I'll take my leave for now " Vollk equips his weapons and leaves for the inn.

(Monday August 17th)
Volk sits on the ground with his legs crossed.
(He prays to lord earth)
[Lord Earth I wish for you to test me when you return, and see if I would make a worthy earth champion.]
He then begins to meditate. He is almost perfectly still.
