Two Teachings in One Day

Carrying an armload of books up the trail toward the Western part of Holdfast, Professor Prometheus Pendergast makes his way past the Earth Circle, looking tired and very preoccupied. He is a man who has been in seclusion for the past few days, recovering from the shock of having been killed once again. He has remained solemn in the depths of his own thoughts, trying to centre himself, maintain some focus, and deal with his emotions. One thing is for certain: there remains a quiet anger in his gait as he walks the trodden paths of Holdfast.

Deep breath, Prometheus... he thinks to himself. Patience... In all things...

Slowly, he pulls one of Keket's Moon Berries out of a bag in his pocket and pops it into his mouth. The flavour gives him, for a moment, a renewed sense of calm as he makes his way up the hill to the hut of Sir Ardin Gallagher. Without missing a beat, he swallows the moon berry and knocks on the door.

"Ardin?" he asks. "It's Pendergast. Are you in?"
