Can't come to the door, little tied up at the moment

[Dimitri]

*Dimitri walks up to the quaint cabin and knocks, Mo'Chi slowly open the door and gently waves*

"Hello Friend, Dimitri hope's he's not disturbing you. You see he was chatting with Cerdiwynn and well. Dimitri was wondering if you could teach him how to get out of a bind. if you know what I mean?"

*Dimitri holds up his hands as if they were manacled*

[Mo'chi]

Mo'chi rubs his still sleep-filled eyes, taking a moment to register that yes, Dmitri is at the door asking for something.

The kaern nods, disappearing into the cabin briefly. He eyes his chalkboard, thinking of telling Dmitri the limits of his ability to teach, then remembers that Dmitri can't read. The mute shakes his head and grabs some rope before rejoining Dmitri.

Mo'chi doesn't tie the rope on himself or Dmitri, not yet. Instead, he very slowly and deliberately tied it into a knot. Then he very slowly unties the knot, being sure to show Dmitri what parts he's pulling to make it loosen.

[Dimitri]

*Dimitri takes the rope from around his waist and carefully ties the same knot, pauses a moment then pulls at the same ends and undoes the knot*

"Like Zis?"

*Dimitri smiles broadly*

[Mo'chi]

Mo'chi nods at Dmitri. He wished he could encourage him, say 'yes, like that!', but that required more courage than Mo'chi had to spare. He didn't look forward to seeing life destroy someone like Dmitri. The older kaern brushed away the thought.

Mo'chi ties a few more simple knots, going through the same process with each one. Nothing too complicated, he could only get out of simple things. Maybe spider webs, too.

[Dimitri]

*It takes Dimitri a little more time, but after a few tries he manages to tie and untie each knot*

"Dimitri thinks he understands, but how does it change if he is the one who is tied?"

[Mo'chi]

Mo'chi gives him time to figure each knot out, then decides to move on at Dmitri's question. He hands the rope to Dmitri, then holds out his own hands to indicate to the human to tie him up.

.. Hopefully in a simple knot, but Mo'chi has a dagger if he has to cut himself free.

[Dimitri]

"OK"
*Dimitri grabs the rope and loops it around Mo'chi's hands 3 times then brings the ropes together and ties a neat double knot*

"So Vhat do zoo do Ven Zis appens?"

[Mo'chi]

Mo'chi wriggles his hands as Dmitri finishes typing the knot around them, testing how strong the knot was. Not too complex or tight, good, he should be able to get out of this.

He pushed away his anxiety at being tied like this and began to slowly untie the knot by wiggling and loosening it, then reaching up and around to get at the tie. Slowly, over the course of minutes, Mo'chi unties the bindings.

Far slower than he would if he was actually tied up like this, but the point was to demonstrate.

[Dimitri]

*Dimitri's eyes widen a little*

"Zo you move arms to gather ze loose bits in von spot Zen you work on the knot, OK"

*Dimitri gives a large smile*

"OK, is Dimitri's turn now??"

*Dimitri puts his arms together and holds them out*

[Mo'chi]

Mo'hi nods at Dmitri and let's out a "Mhm". He takes the rope in his and ties it around Dmitri's hands in a similar knot. Sturdy, but not so sturdy that Dmitri should be unable to get out. A neat double knot.

[Dimitri]

*Dimitri starts to twist his arms side to side, but doesn't make much progress at first, concentrating a little more he starts moving his wrists in small circles working the rope bit by bit*

"Dimitri Sinks it is loosening" *Dimitri says with a smile*

*Soon there is enough slack for him to work the knot with his teeth and with a muffeled "Aha" Dimmitri undoes the knot and unwinds the rope from his arms*

"Zat Vas much harder Zen Zee ozzer vuns, are Zere any more trix Mo'chi can show Dimitri?"

[Mo'chi]

Mo'chi watches patiently as Dmitri figures it out. He smiles widely as Dmitri finally, after struggle, undoes the knot. Yes!

At Dmitri's question, he shakes his head. He could try to tell Dmitri to practice on his own, but he couldn't exactly say that.
