Training Taka
Winnie meets Taka at the head of the path by the watchtower, a bundle of rolled up cloth strips in her arms.
"So, the main way to toughen up might sound counter-productive, but it isn't. What we will be doing is building up your pain tolerance and strengthening your skin and bones by strategically hurling yourself at trees. Or we will work up to the hurling and just start by punching, kicking, and headbutting. Luckily, you'll have cloth wrapped around the parts of your body that will be coming into contact with the tree," she shakes the bundles in her arms.
"A couple layers at first. Enough layers that you don't mangle yourself, but not enough to not feel the hurt. As you work on hitting the tree, you'll build up a tolerance to the pain and when your body heals, it will heal stronger. When it heals, you'll repeat the process but with less layers of cloth. Heal stronger, take away cloth, heal stronger, and so on and whatnot until you no longer need the cloth and you've healed so strong that even swords can't pierce your skin. It's important that you heal naturally during this process. Your body learns when it heals naturally. It will learn slowly, but it will learn."
