"IMPENDING ECOLOGICAL CATASTROPHE"

While myself and Lexicus were escorting Apple back to Applevale, we became privy to some very disturbing news. As it turns out, due to their dissection of a Hummeroc egg last month, Apple and an associate in Holdfast have discovered that hummerocs are starting to pass on the traits that we have been finding artificially applied to other animals these past few months onto their offspring naturally. And since we learned this month that MAN3 and his team are behind the altered creatures, this means their team is responsible for releasing altered hummerocs into the wild that have been altered on a fundamental level so that each new brood can posses powers such as:

- Magical abilities
- Psychic Powers
- Ability to poison
- Replicate smaller birds ability to swiftly dodge attacks suddenly
- Can do magical damage
- Possibly other abilities

We do not know currently how they managed to accomplish something that usually takes generations of breeding to accomplish in such a short time frame. The two possible solutions are 1) They somehow managed to GREATLY alter the application and inheritably of their mutations, or 2) Have been doing this in secret for a very long time. Either way, if these hummerocs are allowed to live and breed, it will mean a horrifying disaster for not only our local ecosystem, but the lives of the residents of Holdfast, Applevale, and wherever else these creatures spread to. Rhonda is being notified by Apple and they will take care of preparations on their side, as for Holdfast, I have been talking with Ceridwynn and we have decided that a purge of the recent broods is necessary in order to protect the environment and ourselves. As such, Ceridwynn is spearheading the hunting efforts and is looking for any willing townsfolk that would be interested in lending a hand, so speak with them if you want to do your part and help prevent an ecological catastrophe.

HUMMEROC HUNTING TIPS

- Hummerocs while not in breeding season target people that look like they would make a good duel, as they love to fight. As such, when wandering out in areas with potential Hummeroc activity while the breeding season is over, it is best to not wear any visible weaponry and hide your armor to prevent an attack. This can be used to bait them into engaging though, if one person is ahead of the group and looks ready to fight then you may bring the Hummeroc to you

- Hummerocs while in breeding season, however, will be hunting for easy prey that won't be able to fight back. If it is currently breeding season, DO NOT walk around unarmed and do your best to appear as threatening as possible to prevent become an unwilling host. See above for hunting tip but do the opposite

- Hummerocs are weak to blunt force trauma and sundering strikes from giant weaponry. When engaging a hummeroc, try to use hammers or fists to maul them to death, or if strong enough giant weapons are also advised.

- DO NOT ATTACK A HUMMEROCS BEAK unless it is to parry attacks. Hummeroc beaks are exceptionally tough and nigh indestructible, as such any attacks on the beak will be wasted effort and it will have no impact on the bird itself.

- Breeding season has just ended, or is currently ending.

- Speak with Ceridwynn and consult the bestiary for further advice

After investigation the bodies in the forest with Condor, Quill, Callum, and Marco it was clear there were hosts of hummeroc eggs that hatched. I wish to lend my end and see this through as I am already invested. I will lend my medical training to ensure those who fight the hummerocs are safe and healed up.
