Unpleasant Ponderings
(Please excuse my writing skills, I’m a bit rusty)
Emellia sits outside on the back patio lost in thought while stitching felt forget-me-nots and watching the rain tickle the grass. With the siege just a few weeks away and the events of the last full moon still fresh in her mind, her head has been lost to the clouds a lot more recently.
Before now she had so much faith in herself and her friends that they were doing the right things, but now her faith has been grasping on desperate reasonings and a stubborn conscience.
What if, we’re wrong? What if Nero really did change? What if Kez made a mistake and Verbena was right? What if Providence really is what Holdfast strives to be - a town dedicated to making the world a better place?
Theo wouldn’t just murder a town full of families without good reasons, would he? Maybe there was a misunderstanding and he didn’t know what he was doing, just like Kondor and Quill. Yeah, everything her friends did were all just gigantic misunderstandings.
Emellia stops stitching and turns to her journal.
Maybe writing her family a letter might help.
