Ryn, and the Misadventures of her Rather Large Mediocre Hat; Magic Strainer! Part 2: Electric Boogaloo!

[Ryn]

After having a hearty meal with her friends on the patio, and then after having let her stomach settle for a few, she heads into the inn. She fetches her magic strainer and fills her chalice once again for the walk. Before her departure, she sings out about where she’s heading; the psychic circle.

Ryn sips her water as she enters into the deep woods, beyond the tree line. She heads down lysanders grove. Half way through the green corridor, she meets with the bubbling psychic circle.

its sifting time!

envisioning a 5 point star in her mind, she gets started on the first point. It’s a solid first point; so it’ll make a great star! she solidifies this point, taking 10 minutes until she’s ready to move onto the next.

[Ryn]

with the first point down, ryn takes pause for a moment. Before sipping water from her chalice, she notices a thin shred of moss floating in her glass, and she pulls it out. her finger is now wet. and the water was cold. she takes another pause.

she sifts the second point.

[Ryn]

10 minutes of sifting later, she returns to her chalice.

why hadn’t she just brought her bottle instead?

3…..4 pieces of moss? and a bug? in her cup????

this ridiculousness is ridiculous. nature is beautiful and all, but not when it’s in her drinking cup.

Ryn decides to pause her sifting, stretch her legs, and get a bottle that nature and trees and bugs cannot penetrate. Ryn hollers:

“bye circle!!!! i’ll be back to keep you fed and keep on sifting in a sec!!!”

on her jaunt back up to the inn, Ryn dumps out her dirty buggy water into the blossoming blueberry bushes that line her path.

[Ryn]

in a flash, Ryn dumps her empty chalice on a table, finds her bottle, fills it up, and heads back down to the circle. As she runs, both in and out of the inn, she hollers about everything being okay, nothings wrong, but saying she just has “shit do to.”

Holdfasters are a very jumpy people, when they see someone running in and out of the inn on an otherwise peaceful day. However, Ryns need for speed to continue her task usurps her awareness of this fact.

shes gotta go fast.

and she does! she does go fast. bottle in hand, water in bottle, water in mouth.

She makes it, again, to the circle.

more winded than she’d like to admit, she gets started on the third point of the 5 point star.

She’s got gusto, she’s got zest, and with very much energy (zoomies, even) she sifts that third star.

As she sifts, she mellows out. it is rather meditative, and incredibly easy to focus on.

[Ryn]

the third point is finished.

she sips water from her bottle.

There are no bugs.

There is no moss.

Her water is at an ideal temperature.

Her water is refreshing, even. she feels refreshed.

after refreshments, she begins to sift the fourth point of the five point star.

[Ryn]

the fourth point is sifted.

and so onto the next.

the last.

she lets her tongue glide under her right fang: it is still sharp, this is always good.

she plots a course that would meticulously connect her fourth point with the first, creating a perfectly balanced 5th point.

at this time, she’s notably more present with the circle. Perhaps they’re not psychically connected, who’s to say, but right now, she is tending to the circle. She taking care of it. The fleeting thoughts and distractions are fully and entirely devoid in her mind at this time, as she sifts this final point. She feels connected to it still. unrequited? possibly. sifting, and scooping, she continues on.

[Ryn]

ten minutes pass, and the last point is complete.

Ryn kneels down to the circle, allowing it to connect with her, and allows it to siphon 5 states from her person.

Ryn collects her bottle, and waves good bye to the circle.

“I’ll be back and see you soon. I hope you enjoyed those states, eat up and i’ll chat with you later. Bye buddy! ”

The sky is a little darker than she remembered it being, and having furfilled her duty to the circle, it’s time for bed.

she heads back to the inn, and changes into her nightgown. She crawls up into her top bunk, and closes her eyes. it’s only mere moments before her tiredness overtakes her, and just like that; she’s out like a light.
