Mother - Faun Bonding.
It’s been a few days now since their entrapment in Holdfast began, and despite his best attempts to keep busy, Drixar is already bored. While thinking of what to do he remembers how the chefs a few days prior had traced footprints on the trails to determine the entry point of Samuel, a victim to the… sentient spoon?
At this memory Drix throws his shawl over his shoulders and heads out, he figures finding someone skilled in following prints could help with his newfound idea for boredom busting, and the best place to find them? Already amongst the indents of steps, the paths of town.

Rudi finds herself drawn to the woods almost every hour she's awake, losing herself among the familiar comfort of the trees. So much so, in fact, that she's hardly stepped foot in the inn to eat- choosing to have meals out among the trees.
But she must go back to the inn from time to time to resupply (steal food from the kitchen). She passes Drixar on her way, giving him a brief rub of the head and a stopping for a moment.

He pauses at the head rub, a smile creeping onto his face, speaking finally once Rudi pulls her hand away. “You’re just who I was looking for! You know how to track things by their footprints right?! Can you show me how?? Please please pleasseeee”

Rudi stops at her son's question. She supposed she could wait to eat. She smiled; it was strange finding herself in a position where she was teaching one of her own pups to hunt. In a weird way, it makes the future she saw for herself when she was younger true.
"I'd love to teach you. Were you just looking for the basics?"

At rudi’s confirmation Drix lights up, you’d swear last nights stars had been captured now in his eyes. “Yes please!! Do I need anything?? I can get my notebook!”

She laughed and shook her head. "You won't need it, unless you want to take notes to study later." It wasn't how she learned, but not everyone was a hands on learner.

Drix nods, eager to learn the skill he watched her use all those years ago, when he was merely a lamb. “Got it! So where do we start?”

"Follow me!" She smiles at him, as excited as he was. She knows she saw a rabbit track near here, and she does love rabbit.
Rudi starts her path into the woods, finding the rabbit track fast enough. "Before you look for tracks, look for dung. You can't always see prints left behind, but more often than not you can find dung and disturbed vegetation. Either from the animal eating or passing through. Dung can also tell you how long ago an animal passed through, by how fresh it is, and the general health of an animal."
She sits on a nearby rock. "We're close to a rabbit track. See if you can tell me anything about it."

Drix follows along and nods, absorbing every word. Once the two get to where Rudi had lead them he takes the time to crouch down, studying the ground and plants nearby.
“Hmmm, this plant looks like it’s been chewed on a bit! Uh..” the faun struggles a bit, clearly trained for berries and not prints. “I think there’s something here?”
