Laws of Engagement for the Bicentennialish Grand Ritual of the New World Gauntlet Empty Laws of Engagement for the Bicentennialish Grand Ritual of the New World Gauntlet

Auron carefully pins a piece of paper to the notice board. Beneath the main paper, there is another small note attached. It reads:

"If you're interested in signing up, please come find me. If I'm in Applevale (which I likely will be), Dimitri or Lexicus will have the sign up sheet instead. Remember: signing the paper will enable you to teleport to the Gauntlet when it occurs, regardless of where you are in the world when it begins. Even if you sign the paper, you will still have the option of accepting the teleport or not. Good luck."

(OOG: If you want to sign up and haven't already, reply to this post with your whatever name your character would sign onto the sheet! The sign up sheet will always be in town, so there won't ever be difficulty finding it.)

The large piece of paper reads:

Laws of Engagement for the Bicentennialish Grand Ritual of the New World Gauntlet
Last Victory Achieved during the Paradigm Blink

• The Challenge is 5 Dungeon Floors consisting of 10 Chambers each for a total of 50 Trials in the Gauntlet. The Gauntlet must be run within the Day before it disappears forever.

• While as many as desire are welcome to visit the Gauntlet, parties of no more than 3 Fighters may enter each Dungeon, bit their rosters may change each Dungeon Floor though not midway through (the Ritual can only support so many physical bodies). Likewise, adjacent parties that help the Fighters from without may only be in groups of 3 Puzzlers.

• When entering a Chamber a battle begins with a for or a group of foes, and all doors are sealed. Only when the battle is won will the door to leave the Chamber and move forward be opened.

• Each passage from one Chamber to the next is filed with a sort of obstacle, whether pitfalls (bring rope!), traps, or the walls themselves closing in.

• The door to the next Chamber is locked until the adjacent group of Puzzlers overcome their challenge on their end: it may be anything from navigating a maze to answering a riddle to solving a puzzle. Like the Fighters, they will have 10 challenges to overcome: 1 for every door so that the Fighters might proceed. They may solve these as quickly as they wish and the Fighters must trust them to open each door as the Puzzlers trust them to overcome their battles.

• Items such as potions and enchanted weapons are allowed, though depending on their nature some may be unable to pass through the gates of the Gauntlet.

• At the end of each Dungeon the Fighters may choose to withdraw or press on… they will be unable to escape during a Dungeon.

• Each Dungeon Floor is themed, with specific Boss People and Monsters punctuating the end of every 10 Chambers. The Gauntlet, naturally, becomes gradually harder and more treacherous as they delve deeper.

• Any Adventurers not currently participating in either the Puzzles or Battles are welcome to spectate the Grand Ritual Gauntlet through a special magical viewfinder, but may not communicate with the Adventurers… it is one way. They are also welcome to help prepare for each Dungeon Floor by making use of the Gauntlet facilities to brew Potions, meditate States, and recover strength with food.

• If a Dungeon Floor is failed, all participants in that Dungeon Die, and though they can return to Life there in the Sky, they will be ritually unable to reattempt the Gauntlet for the remainder of the Ritual. Other groups may go in their stead but eventually their numbers would begin to wane and make it impossible.

• Though the parties may rest in between Dungeon Floors, the Gauntlet Ritual is only active for 1 Day, and so it must be completed before the Sun leaves.

• If victorious in overcoming the final challenge in the Final, 51st Chamber of the Gauntlet, the Adventurers will be rewarded with the most totally righteous Sword in the Cosmos of the New World.

Kez scratches out his name and writes "Prodigial Alchemist Kez Shiras of Holdfast, Slayer of Coiled Bruins and Premier Wrastler (at least top 5 at this point) (I wanted a title)"
