Visions...

[Z]

(Dated Thursday after August game)

Z, Teek, and Rosco, with light bags, venture into the woods around Holdfast, they don't seem to be carrying much, and presumably aren't going far

Once they are about an hour into the woods, they come across a small clearing where Z begins to make camp, setting up a small tent, filling his waterskin from a nearby stream, gathering rocks for a firepit, and digging a small latrine a small ways away. After a short evening meal, he gestures to Teek and Rosco, he's communicated to both of them briefly their purpose here, and wishes to begin it would seem

[Rosco Agassi]

The ways out into the woods leaves Rosco a little apprehensive. Short legs stumble over rough terrain, struggling to keep up with Z specifically, someone who spends far more time deep in the woods than him. He manages, the whole time looking from side to side to check for danger. He usually sticks to trails for good reason.
Z does all of the preparation, though he asks about a hundred times if he can help, until he becomes sure the woodsman is just getting annoyed. By the time they finish eating he's grown quiet again, settling away from the fire and therefore the two others. Z's Inquisition doesn't go amiss, though; it's met with a nod and a gentle comment of, "You lead and I'll follow."

Teek keeps to herself during the hike mostly because she keeps making note of where the sun is in relation to the trio and where she remembers Holdfast to be. She's constantly tracing an arc in front of her while mumbling "...comes up from the East and goes down in the West..." with each arc.

Once they settle in the camp, she traces the path of the sun once more before drawing a crude compass in the dirt, using the sun as her guide. Once satisfied with it she looks at Z with a bit of pride and asking "Is it right?", pointing at the compass, "Do I have the points right?"

[Z]

Z can't help but smile, as he looks over Teeks compass, seeing everything he taught her, displayed out in the dirt. It's a touch off, but not by enough to make any significant difference, so Z gives a beaming thumbs up.

Z sits at the western side of the compass, gesturing for the others to sit at the northern, and southern parts, and holds his hands out openly to them, waiting patiently

Teek returns the thumbs up with a beaming smile of her own before happily settling on the North point and taking Zs outstretched hand.

[Rosco Agassi]

Rosco is the last to sit, pondering too long and too hard about what point to chose before Teek's choice solidifies his decision. He sits at the southern end, eying the two painfully bright purple auras that settle close to him. Then, he takes Z's hand in silence, and thinks for a moment before offering one to Teek as well.

Teek quietly takes Rosco's hand, to complete the circle.

[Z]

Once the circle is complete, Z looks at each of his friends, takes a deep breath, and relaxes. He let's the psychic energy flow between them, in and out, with each breath he takes, hoping they follow suit. He pushes gently with his mind, and taps into his power to change what they see, hallucinating a clear, open meadow, and endless sky, not a cloud in sight. It is here, he reaches total relaxation, and waits, focusing his power before their attempt.

[Rosco Agassi]

There's a brief reluctance to join in the sharing of psychic energy; a small pause and a sharp breath in. Rosco, it seems, is anticipating that this will /hurt/. Teek and Z are both much more powerful than him, and with power comes danger.

He brushes off the fear and takes another deep breath in, giving Z's hand a gentle squeeze as he accepts the energy, merging it with his own before offering more to Teek.

[AD]

Teek closes her eyes as she syncs her breathing with Z and opens her own energy to flow with the other two. She starts it as a slow trickle water, slowly flowing to and around the others. Quickly enough the trickle becomes a steady flow, surrounding and merging with the others. It's gentle and caring. Slow, cautiously working with the others, so as to not overwhelm but rather to enrich and strengthen.

When she feels the two fully accept and relax with her, Teek opens her eyes to the scene Z built and waits.

When he realizes it doesn't hurt, Rosco opens up more. Tension leaves his body, his breathing slows and he lets himself be relaxed, possibly for the first time in his neurotic life. The scene builds around him, and waits, looking towards Z for guidance.

[Z]

It is in this meadow that Z, Teek, and Rosco wait. Z concentrates on Nephila, on what he knows of weaving ,(weaving 1) and on everyone's combined psychic energy. He let's his mind relax and they sky and meadow flow naturally, soon there are some clouds in the sky taking the shape of sausages, and 2 Grey Jays frolic in the wind. He let's the energy and scenery flow naturally, while deep within he concentrates, waiting for any change caused by something other than his subconscious.

[AD]

*the sun begins to get blotted out, casting shadows on the trio. Each of the trio are standing in the light provided from the shadows. Z is the first to notice the shape of the shadows being eerily similar to the bits of armourment by the heads of the dreadsplice*

[Rosco Agassi]

Rosco has yet to see the shadows take shape, but the eerie nature of it all sets him on edge. He tries to squeeze Z's hand for comfort, but is met instead with this version of himself pressing his hand open and shut. He's quiet, but breathes deep, trying to open himself up more to the surrounding visions.

[Z]

Z maintains his breathing, in and out, in and out, rhythmically and steadily. he glances his eyes around, noting the shapes of the shadows, but remains relatively still, not wanting to break his concentration or disrupt the beginnings of this vision. Z continues to be relaxed as he can, knowing he must to get the most out of the vision and to ensure he doesn't interfere with it anymore than is necessary.

[AD]

*the sun is now completely covered and what starts as mid day overcast is suddenly evening and inky black. There is an unsettling feeling in the air.*

Teek's gaze is frozen on something in the distance, her face stoic, knowing. She adds a breeze to blow in that direction, hoping everyone looks.

[Rosco Agassi]

Rosco's breathing is becoming even more controlled. Inhale, hold, exhale. Three seconds each. He follows Teek's gaze on the exhale, trying to keep a steady grip on the vision so as not to let all their hard work slip away.

[AD]

*a towering, white, emotionless face is seen in the distance. Followed by thousands of emotionless faces, all considerably shorter. They are coming towards the trio*

[Z]

Z notices, and watches silently, anticipating them to wash over the trio as it is just a vision. Perhaps it's foolhardy, but he maintains a very relaxed composure, just analyzing with his eyes as the figures approach.

[Rosco Agassi]

Rosco eyes Z, then Teek, trying to gauge just how scared he should be. He decides to match Z's relaxed stance, trusting that the woodsman would be far more on edge if there was anything to truly fear. Deep breath in, deep breath out. He pulls his hood over his head for security.

[AD]

*the emotionless faces keep marching toward the trio. As they approach the group it becomes apparent that they are dread splices. One, much larger than the others, is well ahead of the pack, stops and settles into a position. The much smaller dread splices walk up to the larger one to stare at it for awhile before walking away and being replaced by another*

Teek stands up and walks to the larger dread splice, face set in fear and determination. She kneels down, placing her hands on the ground and waves of lights start pulsing from her. Each wave disintegrates dozens of smaller dreadsplice. She keeps going and going and going. The waves of dreadsplice keep coming, despite the waves of light. Teek is shaking and tears are falling, she keeps going.

[Z]

Z notices Teek interacting with the vision and hurriedly rushes over to her, placing his hands on her back. He begins trying to channel his energy into her, attempting to time bursts with her pulses of light. There is now panic on his face, this should not be happening.

[Rosco Agassi]

Rosco follows Z. He seems to be matching every move of his carefully, proving just how unsure he is. His hand lays gently on Teek's upper back, and much weaker psychic energy joins theirs, at first a second off from the pulses of light, and then eventually in time with her.

[AD]

*the waves of light grow stronger, disintegrating more dreadsplice with each pass and still they come. Darkness reigns, unholy energy is pulsating and still they come. Wave, upon wave, upon wave. There is no end, no hope to be had, just endless dreadsplice.*

Teek stands up, screaming, tears flowing down her face, and she forces the larger dreadsplice back. Back, back, back it goes, followed by the smaller. Teek stops pushing and braces herself and the large dreadsplice starts its march back to the trio. Before it can stop and get into position, Teek starts blasting it with light, screaming incomprehensibly in rage and fear.

[Z]

Z steps back from Teek staggering for a moment, before everything goes to a blinding brightness for a split second.

Z takes a massive breath in as his eyes snap open, sweat pouring down his face and body, the sun beating down upon the trio within their clearing. Their fire long since gone out, and a small squirrel scurries out of Rosco's bag, a small piece of bread in tow. Z takes a moment before he remembers to exhale, and breathes in and out heavily for a couple of minutes before regaining enough composure to grab his waterskin and drink it all in a few major gulps. He then slowly looks to his compatriots, to see how they're doing.
