Ardin and Malva in the Woods Empty Ardin and Malva in the Woods

While Ardin and Malva are out looking for flora, Ardin turns to Malva.

"Malva, Talia's been saying you could make mana out of the minerals out here, of... Brightstone I believe she said. I've been looking around, but I've only received a small amount of training in locating and extracting ores, and haven't had much luck. Perhaps you could show me more advanced techniques of finding ores?"

"Alright Ardin. So most of the rocks you see around here are boulders that have fallen down from the top of the hill. So we may expect that if we go up the hill we might see more ores."
She gestures for Ardin to follow her up the hill.

Ardin follows behind, taking note of where Malva turns her attention to as they head up the hill.

Malva leads Ardin up and up until the hill becomes crumbling cliffs. She turns around and sits down. She gestures to the rocks around her.
"Tell me Ardin; do you see any more ores here than you did at the bottom of the hill?"

Ardin starts looking around at the walls of rock, closely inspecting each one. Not noticing any unusual ores in these rocks, Ardin turns back to Malva.

"I'm afraid I can't see any ores around here. There are some streaks in the rocks, but from what I remember Joy saying they're not ores"

"Good observation Ardin. You see it's not just the source of the rocks we need to find; as the rocks fall down the hill they break apart. The ores are exposed by the rocks breaking. Here; come back down the hill with me."

She leads Ardin about halfway down the hill.

"Do you see more ores here?"

Ardin scours the area for rocks that look freshly cracked. Sifting through them, he catches a glimpse of metallic sheen from one of them.

"Oh, I think we have something here."

"Exactly! And as you see you'll have much better luck looking at the more freshly broken rocks. And if you can remember which rocks weren't there before, that's even better."
