Because that's how I roll, I have started drafting a new player meta-guide based on my experience, while my newbie impressions have not yet faded. Anyone can comment on the shared document linked here  and if I get anything wrong or you think I should add something I encourage you to do so! I hope it will be useful and if sufficiently so that it will be blessed b elevation to the New Player's Guide canonical Google Drive but no pressure! No guarantee that it will necessarily be finished or maintained?
