Timmean nodded and smiled slightly.

"Will do; thanks again."

With that he turns and heads back toward the inn.

Degren enters the forge and kicks the ash from his boots. He looks around, looking for Borin near the Anvil.

Borin walks down from the inn with the tankard of Ironhammer filled with ale in one hand and using the other to sling his axe over his shoulder. He sees Degren at the forge and raises his mug and nods. "Hello lad."

"Greetings!" Degren calls, thrusting a fist against his chest in salute, "I've been doing a fair bit o' work lately, and I was lookin' to further myself as a smith. I hope to make it to master before long, and I wanted to ask ye if ye'd train me a bit more."

Borin  excitedly pulls his hammer from his belt and spins it in his hand. "Great let's get started" He says as he begins to pump the bellows. "How much exactly de ye already know?"

Degren smiles and pulls his tools from the satchel at his hip (OOG: dubbed the Durse. The dwarf purse), "I'm still an apprentice, so I'm looking to hone myself to master."(OOG: I'm smithing 3 looking to hit 4)

Borin continues to work absent mindedly while talking to degren. Getting materials ready, pumping the bellows and stoking the fire. "Well the main thing I need te know is if ye can make exceptional items."

Borin eyes the sword on Degren's belt (oog: phrasing) and says "Aye it ain't perfect but it's the best ye can make with the common materials 'round here. But I don't think yer ready to be workin' with masterwork materials yet anyway. What ye should do now is learn how te do yer work faster and the best way to do that is te work under my supervision and I'll point out things ye can do better."

(OOG: Oh baby, oh?) Aye, that's the best way all right. Do ye mind havin' me round as yer assistant fer a while? I'll do my part, I swear. Keep them forges lit, and haul coal when its needed. Fill some of the orders, at least.

"Aye, will do!" Degren throws the metal into Forge, giving it time to heat, pushing the bellows as he waits. When they're red hot, he pulls them out and begins to hammer, heating the metal as he goes.
He takes quite some time, but before long, a fine dagger is made.

"I noticed ye spent a lot o'time heat'n the metal up, the colder yer metal is the faster it cools off plus the colder it is the more strikes it takes to work it. This'll waste a lot o'time when you have a lot o'commissions at once. What ye'be gotta do is heat it up til it's bright yellow almost white that will be much softer and it'll stay nice'n'hot. The time lost heating it fer longer is made up fer with the time saved by not havin' te reheat it as often." He takes the dagger from Degren and hand him a rare.

(Oog: I will sign of for smith 4)

Stumbling in with a large clancky sack slung over one shoulder, and a fistfull of parchment in the other hand, Bikbun enters, and greets all present.

"Aye, lads, yalraight?" he says to nobody in particular, as if by force of habit. He succeeds in stifling a yawn whilst asking, but fails to stifle the bags under his eyes. Setting the sack down in the corner with a clang, he stretches and limbers up a little.

"D'ya mind if'n I work 'ere fer a bit? I wanna some fancy tools, 'n also I gots tae make somethin' fer Bori-"
the sentence cuts short as he spies Borin, already present, and spends a moment or three processing this, before startling himself.

"Ah, Borin! There ye are! I was just gonna ask if'n I could make ye a thing! I mean, I wan' make meself some fancy tools first, cause then I can make ye somethin' real pretty!"

(OOG: Might not be able to post much as assignments are killing me slowly, but my intention is to make 1x Exceptional Quality Tools (with Smith III) and then one Exceptional Dagger and one Exceptional Axe, for Borin. If I have any leftover makes, will make some Exceptional quality Surgeons Tools)

Bikbun pauses in thought, and then smiles.

"Aye, lad, it's the least I ken do for ye, seein' as how ye helped me last time, with fixin' the armour for every folk. I'll use the metal ye gives me t' make another fer me other client"

Once his tools are cooled down, he starts using then to smelt some metal units to make a fancy dagger for Degren.

With a few moments of processing from the very tired dwarf, he snaps back into reality, just in time to notice the metal at white-hot temperature.

"Ah! Sorry, not at me brightest today, lad. Been awake all night tryin' ta draw plans up fer me next secret project! But aye, thanks fer clarifyin' lad!"

Spurred awake by brilliantly hot metal, he removes it from the forge and sprinkles some flux on, before brushing it down with a wire brush and then starts a-hammerin'

Degren walks into the forge, placing his shield and satchel next to the door. "Hail, Borin, Bikbun," He nods to the dwarves, " I'm lookin' fer some more trainin', if you can spare the time there Borin. Sorry I never got 'round to payin' ye. Actually, I missed the price. But, I'll need a bit of time to gather the funds fer ye. See... There was a trader in town, and I...May have... Probably... pissed away all my funds on wonderful magical items... But, I CAN pay in metal, or sell some metal for your pay, whatever you prefer. How much do you ask?"

Degren grabs the metal and begins to heat them in the forge, "You know, I've noticed that you've always got abundant amounts of iron kickin' bout. Do ye own a mine, by chance?" He laughs, and finishes with the iron, tossing it onto the anvil and starting to hammer it into a rough, dagger-like shape.

Degren throws a finely crafted short sword onto the table. Though rough, and lacking \ any adornments, the sword is sturdy, and sharp.
