Re: A Messenger in town
The messenger gave a low whistle.
"I'll do what I can and see that it doesn't get written but like I said, we all work differently. Though...just a thought, what's stopping people from hearing her name being called when we're trying to deliver the letter?"

Re: A Messenger in town
While the messenger lady continued talking to Tim, Ira grabs a pot and heads over to the tapped kegs. She pours a sizeable amount of apple cider into pot, walks out from behind the counter, and leaves the room for the pantry.
"Phineas, Horns, do you need anything from the pantry?" She calls as she heads for the door.

Re: A Messenger in town
Timmean grimaced and sighed.
"Nothing, really. There's no guarantee that this will help her in any way. I'm just thinking that if anyone were to try to intercept this letter, at least they wouldn't know where it was headed. And on that point... be careful. I don't want anyone getting hurt trying to deliver this. I'll rest much easier once I hear the letter arrived safely, and hopefully get a reply... whatever that reply may be."

"We're running a little low on bread, if you could grab some! Thanks, Ira!" Horns called out. He grabbed a cloth and started cleaning the tables, whistling.

Phineas Pennefeather looks up from his kitchen counter, nods to himself and smiles at the great job that Ira and Horns are doing in the main room of the Watering Hole Tavern.

Re: A Messenger in town
The messenger nodded at Timmean.
"I'll be back with info as soon as I can be. I'll also be sure to pass your warning along, as low key as I can, as I won't be the one to deliver this letter to its recipient. Is there anything else I should know?"

Re: A Messenger in town
Timmean thought for a moment, then shook his head.
"I don't think so. As before, she might be with a boy around her age; he'd be about 17 now, named Wolman. Other than that... just be careful. I don't know if she's truly in danger or not, and if she is, I don't even know what the source of the danger would be. I wish I knew more, but I'm afraid that's all I have for now."

"Ok, I'll people know." Looking around the messenger asks, "Is the bloke in black still around? Or has he left?"

Turning to give Horns a wave to indicate that she heard his request, Ira walks out of the common room.

Without a word Volkihere gets up and leaves the tavern, and begins to head for the woods.

Re: A Messenger in town
The messenger notices the bloke in black leave and just shrugs.
"Right, well if nobody else has anything for me, I'll be off. So last call."

Re: A Messenger in town
Phineas the Halfling Tavern-keeper steps away from his working space behind the half counter separating the kitchen area from the main hall and passes a small sack and a wine skin to the travelling messenger.
“I hope that you will accept this small token of appreciation,” he says. “It is just a little food and some cider for your trip.”
“You are always welcome here,” he smiles. “And I hope that you can get the word out that our little community is doing well. And if anybody needs a little smithing done or something from our alchemists, please let them know that we will welcome the business.”

Re: A Messenger in town
Timmean turns to leave the taver, but pauses and then steps toward Phineas.
"Ah, yes, I almost forgot; is there any work you need done at the moment? I usually don't ask for any payment since the accommodations and training are certainly worth working for. However, I need to pay Borin for that ax."

Re: A Messenger in town
The Halfling barkeep puts up one hand to respond to Timmean. But, changing his mind, he stops himself. After a moment, Phineas speaks up.
“Timmean, my friend, I am more than willing to help,” Phineas says. “But I am sure that you and the Dwarven smith should be able to work out some sort of arrangement between the two of you for his services. “
The Innkeeper looks out the window towards the fields that the man has started to work as a farming plot.
“After all, Borin the Dwarf may need all kinds of things that you are very well suited to supply him with!”
He spreads his arms with his hands held up to indicate the wide range of possibilities that may exist in the future.
“And, coming from a Halfling merchant, this may sound odd, but remember: Don’t sell yourself short!”

Re: A Messenger in town
Timmean pauses, chewing his lip in thought.
"Hmm... alright. That might make things a bit awkward, since Borin finished the ax sooner than I expected, but we'll work something out."
Timmean nods once to the messenger, a simple gesture of recognition and thanks, before turning and striding out of the room.

Re: A Messenger in town
Standing up the messenger gladly accepts the sack and wine skin and carefully puts them in her bag,
"These are most welcomed, I assure you. Thank you."
Turning to the bloke in black, she responds to his question,
"Last time I was here, you had shown interest in sending a message but it never happened. Is that interest still active or shall I wait until next time?"

Nodding, the messenger does a final check of her things before heading out the door and calling out,
"See you all next time!"
"See you all next time!"
